Alivira TOBROFIN (ketoprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)  indicated for horses and cattle to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever.

Alivira TOBROFIN (ketoprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)  indicated for horses and cattle to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever.

INDICATIONS

Horses (Equines)
  • Musculoskeletal Disorders: Relief of inflammation and pain caused by arthritis, traumatic injuries, sprains, and soft tissue issues.
  • Colic: Provides visceral pain relief associated with equine colic, particularly when surgical intervention is not required.
Cattle (Bovine)
  • Respiratory Infections: Control of fever (pyrexia) and inflammation associated with Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD), often called shipping fever pneumonia.
  • Mastitis: Adjunctive therapy to reduce pain, fever, and acute inflammation associated with clinical mastitis (often used alongside antibiotics).
  • Other Inflammatory States: Relief of udder edema, downer cow syndrome, and joint/muscular inflammation.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Horses: Administered by intravenous (IV) injection only. In cases of equine colic, a single injection is commonly used.
  • Cattle: Administered by intravenous (IV) or deep intramuscular (IM) injection into the neck.
Important Safety Guidelines
  • Administration Safety: Avoid intra-arterial (into the artery) injections in horses, as they can cause severe local reactions.
  • Withdrawal Periods (Cattle): Specific, varying withdrawal periods for meat apply to IV and IM administration. There is a “zero” day withdrawal period for milk.
