Alivira TRITYL (tylvalosin) is a macrolide antibiotic primarily indicated for the prevention, control, and treatment of respiratory and gastrointestinal bacterial infections in poultry, and swine.

INDICATIONS

Poultry Indications
TRITYL is primarily used in poultry to treat diseases sensitive to tylvalosin tartrate, specifically targeting:
    • Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD): Prevention and treatment of respiratory tract infections caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae.
    • Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale (ORT): Control of acute respiratory infections caused by ORT bacteria.
    • Necrotic Enteritis: Control and treatment of enteric infections caused by Clostridium perfringens.
    • Cholangiohepatitis: Management of liver and bile duct inflammation associated with bacterial pathogens.

Swine Indications
While formulations can vary slightly by region, tylvalosin oral granules are widely approved in swine veterinary medicine for:
  • Porcine Proliferative Enteropathy (PPE / Ileitis): Treatment and prevention of intestinal lesions caused by Lawsonia intracellularis.
  • Swine Respiratory Disease (SRD) / Enzootic Pneumonia: Treatment and reduction of lung lesions associated with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Streptococcus suis, and Glaesserella parasuis.
  • Swine Dysentery & Colitis: Treatment of severe diarrheal diseases caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae or Brachyspira pilosicoli.

ADMINISTRATION

Preparation and Mixing Methods
You can prepare the medicated water using one of two common methods:
    • Direct Mixing: Sprinkle the required amount of granules directly onto the surface of the drinking water tank. Stir slowly and thoroughly for at least 3 minutes until completely dissolved.
    • Stock Solution: Create a concentrated pre-mix in a smaller container of water first. Stir it thoroughly for 10 minutes, then dose it into the main water lines using an automatic water proportioner or medicator.

Crucial Administration Rules
  • Exclusionary Source: Medicated water must be the animals’ only source of drinking water during the treatment window.
  • Daily Batches: Prepare a fresh batch of medicated water or stock solution every 24 hours.
  • Equipment Restrictions: Never mix or store the medication in galvanized metal equipment. Galvanized surfaces destabilize tylvalosin and lower its effectiveness.
  • Safety Gear: Wear a dust mask, protective gloves, and eye protection when measuring and handling the raw granules to prevent skin and respiratory irritation.
