Alivira ALVIZURIL T25 oral solution (toltrazuril) is a broad-spectrum antiprotozoal and anticoccidial medication indicated for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in poultry.
INDICATIONS
- Chickens (Pullets and reproduction chickens): Treats infections caused by Eimeria acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. mitis, E. necatrix, and E. tenella.
- Turkeys: Treats infections caused by Eimeria adenoides and E. meleagrimitis.
- Prevention: It is also employed to help prevent associated conditions like necrotic enteritis.
ADMINISTRATION
- ALVIZURIL T25 Oral Solution is administered orally via the drinking water using one of two schedules:
- Continuous 24-Hour Treatment: Mix the calculated dose into the entire water supply so the animals drink it continuously over 24 hours for 2 days.
- 8-Hour Treatment Period: Mix the calculated dose into a smaller volume of water that the animals will completely consume within an 8-hour window each day, for 2 days. The remaining 16 hours of the day, they receive regular fresh water.
Critical Mixing & Dosing Rules
- Avoid Proportioner Dosing Pumps: Toltrazuril can precipitate (clump or settle) if it is overly concentrated. Do not use automatic inline dosing pumps or pre-dilution systems; instead, mix it directly into a bulk water tank.
- Concentration Limit: Never exceed a mix ratio of 3 ml of product per 1 liter of water (3:1,000), or the medication will drop out of the solution.
- Exclusive Source: The medicated water must be the only available source of drinking water during the treatment window. Free-range animals should be kept indoors so they do not drink from puddles or outdoor sources.
- Fresh Batches Only: Medicated water degrades quickly and is only stable for 24 hours.
- Post-Treatment Flush: Once the 2-day treatment concludes, thoroughly flush and clean the entire watering system to clear out drug residues.
Meat Withdrawal Periods
If the poultry is being raised for consumption, you must strictly observe the mandatory slaughter withdrawal periods after the last dose:
- Chickens: 18 days
- Turkeys: 16 days
- Eggs: Do not use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption
