Alivira MASTICURE KURU (cefalexin & neomycin) is an intramammary antibiotic suspension indicated for the treatment and prevention of mastitis in dairy cows during the dry period.
INDICATIONS
- Dry Cow Therapy: Used exclusively during the non-lactating (dry) period of cattle.
- Mastitis Treatment: Clears up existing subclinical and clinical bacterial infections within the mammary gland.
- Prophylaxis: Prevents new infections from taking hold during the vulnerable early stages of the dry period.
ADMINISTRATION
- Milk the Cow: Before administration, fully milk out all affected udders to drain any remaining milk.
- Clean and Disinfect: Properly clean and disinfect the teat thoroughly to prevent introducing new bacteria.
- Infuse the Medication: Carefully insert the contents of one syringe into each teat.
- Massage: Gently massage the teat and the udder to help the suspension disperse evenly throughout the quarter.
- Dosage Frequency: The treatment typically requires a single application per teat.
- Withdrawal Periods: Meat cannot be used for human consumption until 28 days after administration. Milk cannot be used for 4 days (8 milkings) post-calving, or 14 days (28 milkings) if early calving occurs.
- Contraindications: Do not use this product on lactating cows.
