Alivira ALVIFEN 3g Bolus (fenbendazole and ivermectin) is a broad-spectrum veterinary antiparasitic used to treat and control mixed infestations of internal and external parasites in livestock, such as cattle, sheep, goats, and horses.

INDICATIONS

Internal Parasites (Endoparasites) 
  • Gastrointestinal Nematodes: Treats both mature and immature stages of roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and nodular worms.
  • Lungworms: Effective against nematodes that cause respiratory infections (e.g., Dictyocaulus species).
  • Tapeworms: Targets segmented worms of the Taenia and Moniezia genera.
  • Tissue Larvae: Eliminates hypobiotic (arrested) larval stages in tissues.
External Parasites (Ectoparasites)
  • Mites: Controls mange and scabies infestations.
  • Lice: Effective against both biting and sucking lice.
  • Grubs: Aids in the treatment and management of cattle grubs (Hypoderma species).

Dosage and withdrawal periods (meat and milk withholding times) depend heavily on the target species and the specific formulation.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Administer orally as a single dose.
  • Method: The bolus can be placed directly into the back of the animal’s mouth using a compatible bolus gun (dosing gun) or safely by hand.
  • Safety & Guidelines: Always ensure the animal is properly restrained to prevent choking or injury to the mouth.
Dosage Guide
Dosage must be calculated based on the species and body weight of the animal. While Alvifen 3g can be used across multiple species, general dosing guidelines include:
  • Cattle & Horses: Usually given as 5 to 7.5 mg of active ingredient per kg of body weight (typically translating to 1 bolus per ≈ 350 to 400 kg of total body weight).
  • Sheep & Goats: Generally dosed at 5 mg/kg body weight.
