KARIDOX Doxycycline Oral Solution

Alivira KARIDOX Oral Solution (Doxycycline) is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic indicated primarily for the prevention and treatment of respiratory and alimentary tract infections in livestock.

INDICATIONS

Pigs

Clinical Respiratory Disease: Indicated for the prevention of clinical respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella multocida and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
Note: The presence of the disease in the herd must be clinically established before starting flock or herd-wide treatment.

Chickens (Broilers)

Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD): Used for the prevention and treatment of CRD caused by microorganisms sensitive to doxycycline.
Mycoplasmosis: Indicated for systemic infections caused by Mycoplasma species.
Alimentary Infections: Used to manage susceptible bacterial infections of the digestive tract.

ADMINISTRATION

Add to Drinking Water: The daily measured dose should be poured into the animals’ main drinking water system. The medicated water must be the only source of drinking water available for the duration of the treatment.
Preparation & Timing: Medicated water should be consumed within 24 hours, so a fresh batch must be prepared daily.
Calculating the Dose: The exact amount depends on the average body weight and daily water consumption of the animals to prevent under- or overdosing. The concentration in the drinking water may require adjustments based on the animals’ clinical condition.
Avoid Mixing: Do not mix the product with other veterinary medicines simultaneously in the same drinking source.

Dosing Guidelines

Chickens (Broilers): The product is intended for administration in drinking water to treat respiratory and alimentary bacterial infections.
Pigs: The product is intended for administration in drinking water to treat respiratory and alimentary bacterial infections.

Note: Withdrawal periods are typically 7 days for both chickens and pigs before the animals can be slaughtered for human consumption. It is not authorized for use in laying birds that are actively producing eggs for human consumption.
