Alivira KARIDOX Doxycycline Oral Powder is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to prevent and treat bacterial respiratory and alimentary (digestive) infections in livestock.
INDICATIONS
- Pigs (Fattening/Weaned): Prevention and treatment of clinical respiratory infections caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida sensitive to doxycycline.
- Chickens (Broilers/Breeders) & Turkeys: Prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases, particularly Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) and mycoplasmosis associated with Mycoplasma gallisepticum and related microorganisms susceptible to doxycycline.
- Other Avian Species (e.g., Pigeons, Cage Birds): Off-label use to aid in the treatment and control of bacterial respiratory infections, including ornithosis.
ADMINISTRATION
- Calculate the Total Dose: Weighing equipment should be used to measure the exact daily amount of powder required based on the collective body weight of the herd or flock.
- Create a Pre-Solution: It is highly recommended to first mix the measured powder into a smaller bucket of water to create a concentrated pre-solution (approximately 100 grams of powder per 1 liter of water).
- Final Dilution: Pour this concentrated solution into the main bulk drinking water tank or connect it to a proportional water medicator system to reach the final therapeutic concentration.
- Frequency: Fresh medicated water must be mixed and replaced every 24 hours. Ensure it is the animals’ only drinking water source during the treatment period.
