Alivira VIRAFLOR (Florfenicol) broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for treating bovine respiratory disease (BRD) and specific infectious foot diseases in cattle and sheep.
INDICATIONS
- Target Species: Cattle and Sheep.
- Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD): Respiratory tract infections caused by florfenicol-sensitive bacteria.
- Foot Diseases: Digital infections including hoof rot, acute interdigital necrobacillosis, and infectious pododermatitis..
ADMINISTRATION
Administered via intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection, exclusively by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
The specific dosage depends on the target species and the chosen method of administration:
- Intramuscular (IM) Route: Administer 1 mL per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 20 mg/kg). This application requires a second dose to be given exactly 48 hours later.
- Subcutaneous (SC) Route: Administer 2 mL per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 40 mg/kg). This requires a single dose only.
- Injection Site: Injections must be given only in the neck to avoid tissue damage in valuable cuts of meat. Do not inject more than 10 mL at a single site.
- Administer 1 mL per 15 kg of body weight intramuscularly.
- Repeat the injection after 48 hours.
- Not for human use and must be kept out of reach of children.
- Meat Withdrawal: Cattle must not be slaughtered for human consumption until 30 days (IM) or 44 days (SC) after the last treatment.
- Milk: This product must not be used in sheep or cattle producing milk for human consumption.
