Alivira ENROSEC (enrofloxacin) is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for treating severe bacterial and Mycoplasma infections in livestock (including cattle, buffalo, sheep, and goats) and poultry.
INDICATIONS
- Respiratory Infections: Pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, shipping fever, and Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD).
- Mastitis: Particularly effective against relapsing mastitis caused by Mycoplasma.
- Gastrointestinal Infections: Severe or infectious diarrhea and enteritis.
- Urogenital Tract Infections: Metritis, pyometra, vaginitis, and urinary tract infections.
- Skin & Soft Tissue: Treatment of wound infections, foot rot, and abscesses.
- Systemic Illnesses: Pyrexia (fever) of unknown origin and mixed bacterial infections.
ADMINISTRATION
- Dosage Guidelines: A veterinarian will calculate the appropriate dosage based on body weight.
- Frequency: The medication is typically administered once daily, with the duration of treatment determined by the severity of the infection.
- Professional Supervision: This medication is potent and should only be given under the direction or supervision of a registered veterinary practitioner.
- Mineral Interactions: Fluoroquinolones like enrofloxacin can bind with minerals, which may reduce the drug’s absorption and effectiveness.
